There are many ways to get a student discount in the UK in 2019 but 3 of the biggest schemes are Unidays, NUS Extra and Student Beans.

We often get asked if there is a Myprotein relationship with each of these providers so we’ve had a look into it and here are the answers.

    The Unidays Myprotein Discount

So the fab news is that there is a My Protein UNiDAYS student discount. Hurrah.

The great news is that Unidays is free to join, you just need an institutional email address (ie one that ends in .ac.uk).

You can then get a special promo code when you login to use at myprotein.com.

Is there a Myprotein NUS Discount?

There is a special NUS discount but you must have a NUS Extra card.

For those students that don’t have one (and they do cost £12/year) you can always join Unidays for free and get the discount that way!

    Good to know though!

    Are there Student Beans Discounts?

Student Beans have missed out here as Myprotein isn’t included in their affiliations in the UK.

    More About the Store

Based in Cheshire, MyProtein offers an unrivalled range of sports nutrition products through its website, including protein powders, supplements, bars, vitamins, nutritionally-balanced snacks, and now, a large range of sportswear clothing for both genders and a range of specific sports and workouts.

The sports nutrition market is becoming crowded, but MyProtein breaks barriers down by focusing on quality and product development themselves.

This is a vigorous process. First, the in-house design team formulate the products based on the latest relevant scientific findings – and never include any fillers or unnecessary ingredients, keeping things as pure as possible.

All ingredients bought in are from only fully accredited suppliers that adhere to full European standards and legislation to ensure quality and safety. 80% of the product manufacture happens in-house at MyProtein’s own manufacturing facility, allowing them to keep prices down and quality to their own thorough standards.

Quality checking and sign-off must take place before anything leaves the factory, and MyProtein involve their own team with this as well as representatives from The Vegetarian Society and The Organic Society where required.

Products then are packaged in-house in MyProtein packets rather than bulky, expensive packaging. Dispatch happens from MyProtein’s own warehouses, of which there are three across the UK, allowing the company to offer Same Day Dispatch right up to 9pm!

Whatever it is you’re looking for to complement your healthy diet and workout regime, you’ll find it at MyProtein. To really position the brand as a Student Discount Squirrel favourite, they promise to price match the whole of their stock to any comparable product available! In such a competitive market, this is really a game changer for consumers.

MyProtein continues to dominate the sports nutrition market in the UK; and once you experience the quality of their products, you’ll soon understand why. There’s truly something for everyone, and lots available to cater for various dietary requirements, so be sure to stop by their site when searching for sports supplements.

    Some Interesting History

MyProtein was founded in 2004 by Oliver Cookson, a life-long entrepreneur who started out earning his own money with paper rounds before and after school.

Leaving school at 16 with one IT GCSE, he started an apprenticeship in computing and progressed to become a full computer developer within the company he started at. Translating his web development abilities to work for himself, Cookson used up his £500 overdraft from the bank in buying web space and launched MyProtein on a mission to produce and sell only the highest quality of sports nutrition without compromise to capitalise on consumer demand and beat competitors.

His flair for business saw him win several awards, including a place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100, the Institute of Directors Rising Star Award, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and the Growing Business Young Company of the Year award.

In true entrepreneurship style, Cookson sold MyProtein when he felt it had gone as far as he could take it. Selling to The Hut Group for £58million, the brand changed hands and was able to expand under new leadership and with fresh investment.

It continues to dominate the sports nutrition market, and with the addition of sportswear, flourishes onward.
